Boscomare |
The village
Boscomare lies at the feet of an old tower among valleys covered with olive-groves. The village is beautiful and peaceful because of the sea breeze and the mountain air. In Boscomare it is still possible to see small fields of lavender, along the road that links Boscomare to Lingueglietta.

Historical outline
Boscomare hasn’t always been a fertile land. In the past it was property of the Genoa’s archbishop and the outside walls of an old church are the remains of that period. If you stop in the small square you can see a small loggia with two arcades on a parvis. |
Things to see
The parish church, dedicated to Saint Bernardo, is in late baroque style (1797) with elements added in more recent times . Inside you can see a wooden statue of Saint Bernardo, which represents the eternal struggle between good and evil, many frescoes and painted columns. Of remarkable beauty is the painting of Mary of the Rosary, surrounded by panels that represent life episodes of the Virgin Mary . The Saracen tower of the late 4th century stands over the village and it still keeps vestiges of the presence of the barbaric pirates. The oratory of the Annunziata has an interesting floor with large slabs. |

| A visit of Boscomare will give you the impression of going back in time : you can enjoy a walk through the steep narrow roads up to the tower , be charmed by the walls made of stones, and relax on the windowsill of the oratory . |
