I
prai (pascoli)
From Pietrabruna to Follia mountain
Time needed: 4 hours
From the superior square of Pietrabruna, dedicated to Giovanni XXII, you go through the "carruggi".
You then go along the old muletrack. After almost half an hour walk you'll see Saint Rocco chapel then arriving at to "campi comen"1 700 meters above; the route continues along ansurfaced road that reaches Saint Salvatore's church.
You cross the road and go up the muletrack, through “giusterne”2 “e pie” 3 until you get to “cainieui”4, the divide between Saint Lorenzo valley and argentina valley 950 meters above (12 hours from Pietrabruna).
Looking north to the you can see Saccarello-Frontè mountain, with the highest summit in Liguria (over 200 mt), while to the south, on the horizon, the snowfields of Cinto's mountain reveal Corse closer than it really is.
1"Campi comen": means common courts, probably once they were left in use to the entire population.
2"Giusterne”: defined like this because it possibly once housed a water-supply ship.
3"E pie": area defined like this because probably there were pines from pinolo . Nowadays the area is composed of meadows where lavender is cultivated. It's sure that corn was cultivated in this area before lavender.
4"Cainieui": means a level area.
